【Application Exploration】Senasic TPMS Sensor Chip SNP739D: Empowering Intelligent Tire Management System TMS

2023-09-01

How often should fleet tires be replaced? Is the corresponding tire management timely and effective? How to prevent car tire blowouts?

According to the National Bureau of Statistics' Yearbook data for 2022, the number of deaths per 10,000 vehicles in road traffic accidents was 1.46. According to CCTV News Channel's "Weekly Quality Report," 46% of highway traffic accidents are caused by tire failures, with tire blowouts alone accounting for 70% of the total accidents.

Directly addressing the pain points of traditional fleet tire management and monitoring

SENASIC

Frequent-use commercial vehicle fleets often fail to effectively monitor tire conditions in routine vehicle management. The main reason is the lack of digital management and data support in traditional fleets, which prevents management personnel from collecting tire basic and real-time data in a refined, dynamic, and comprehensive manner. This leads to safety hazards during transportation, including increased tire failure rates, shortened tire lifecycles, and dramatic rises in tire usage costs. Such issues directly impact the operational efficiency of the entire fleet and increase transportation costs.

The Intelligent Tire Management System (referred to as TMS system below) is a new-generation, fully lifecycle information management platform. Utilizing digital means, it monitors and analyzes tire lifecycles, finely manages tires, and identifies scientific methods for tire management, thereby enhancing the management level of transportation enterprises, ensuring the safe operation of vehicles, and maximizing efficiency

The main modules of the Intelligent Tire Management System (TMS) are as follows:

  Tire Identification

The system has incorporated wireless radio-frequency identification (RFID) communication technology. It utilizes RFID chips, built-in adhesive temperature and pressure sensors, and handheld terminals as carriers for collecting electronic tag identity information of tires, thus achieving the function of electronic tire identity recognition. This establishes an information database for static and dynamic management of the "management, usage, maintenance, and repair" lifecycle processes for each tire.

Real-time monitoring of tire pressure and temperature

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is primarily used to dynamically and automatically monitor tire pressure and temperature during vehicle operation. It detects potential risks to safe driving such as tire leakage, low pressure, high pressure, and high temperature, and promptly alerts the driver, effectively preventing tire blowouts and minimizing the occurrence of traffic accidents caused by tire blowouts. TPMS consists mainly of pressure/temperature transmitters installed inside the vehicle tires, a signal processing unit, and a digital signal processing unit receiver with a liquid crystal display installed on the vehicle dashboard.

  Tire Life-cycle Management Cloud Platform

Based on mobile internet and cloud computing technologies, tire temperature and pressure data is transmitted in real-time to servers through sensor terminals, providing users with uninterrupted data tracking, statistical analysis, and safety supervision. The platform promptly alerts users of various safety hazards it detects and pushes notifications to relevant authorized accounts (enterprises) on the platform for early inspection and elimination of risks.
